We were going for more engagement through; content and interaction. On the online Toon platform you can try Toon functionalities in an interactive environment. The emphasis is on real-time insight and remote control of thermostat and appliances.
The ATL campaign provides more awareness, online traffic and gives direct sales a boost. With content partners RTL Woonmagazine, NRC and Quest, we highlight new features and encourage the sharing of experiences. In addition, a surprising activation has been launched: win an overnight stay at the Toon B&B in Diergaarde Blijdorp and only pay for what you use in energy. Houseguests can experience Toon live and monitor their consumption in real time. Attention in Hart van Nederland, among others, leads to a rush of registrations. With the Friends of Toon online community, Eneco facilitates the interaction between enthusiastic Toon users.
And during the 1st Toon Smart Home session, Eneco asks bloggers, developers and prominent innovators to think about privacy, design and the further development of Toon. With a lot of free publicity and thought leadership as a result.

For most consumers, energy usage is invisible and oftentimes remains an abstract concept. The revolutionary thermostat from Eneco – Toon – makes it possible to be in full control of your energy use 24/7. To demonstrate its benefits and usage, we (Achtung & FHV/BBDO) conceived Toon B&B, a bed and breakfast hotel in the form of a customised designer container where the energy meter is connected to Toon.
